Brand Strategy – Dr. Era Ayurveda
Building the brand from Scratch!
Brand Discovery:

Dr. Era Ayurveda is an Ayurvedic brand backed by a qualified Ayurvedic doctor Dr. Era, focused on addressing Indian skin and hair concerns with authenticity and science-backed formulations.

The core belief of the brand was, Ayurveda works, but only when used correctly. The problem wasn’t the science, but the way people consumed it. Random product choices, lack of guidance, and misinformation often led to poor results, ultimately affecting trust in Ayurveda itself.

This is what Dr. Era aimed at changing with by offering doctor-recommended, need-based solutions.

Research and Market Understanding:

To build a strong foundation, we conducted a primary and secondary research across:

  • The Ayurveda market
  • The skincare and haircare industry
  • Consumer behaviour across age groups (18–45)

Based on insights, we narrowed down the core audience to:

  • Primary: Females aged 26–45
  • Secondary: Males within the same age group
  • Geography: Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities

We further developed detailed consumer personas and conducted a competitor analysis to identify a clear and differentiated position for the brand.

Brand Positioning:

“For people seeking solutions for their skin and hair problems, Dr. Era Ayurveda provides natural, Indian science-based Ayurvedic products formulated and recommended by an Ayurvedic practitioner herself. The brand prioritises authentic and genuine methods to deliver real results while offering a calming, feel-good self-care experience.”

Tagline: Pure. Original. Authentic.

Brand System Development:

Building on the positioning, we developed a complete brand system:

Brand Pillars:

  • Authentic
  • Affordable Luxury
  • Honest & Pure
  • Indian Science-Based

Brand Language & Tonality:
Intelligent, to-the-point, honest, and factual

Brand Identity:
Simple, clean, clear, and dependable

Brand Personality:
Honest, Indian, modern, pure, and kind

We also mapped:

  • Brand benefit ladder
  • Consumer journey and touchpoints

This created a strong strategic backbone before moving into design.

Design and Visual Language:

Based on the brand’s personality and tone, we developed moodboards that reflected:

  • Calmness and care
  • Modern Indian aesthetics
  • Subtle premium cues
  • A sense of trust and clarity

One clear key direction from the client was to avoid overused Ayurvedic colours like brown and green, pushing us to explore a fresher, more contemporary visual space.

With strategy clearly defined, the design process became highly focused.

We explored multiple concepts inspired by:

  • Indian motifs and forms, Indian scriptures
  • Elements representing care, nurture, and balance
  • The ayurvedic chakras, body types; vata, pita, kapha

After several sketch explorations and simplifications, we arrived at a refined symbol that beautifully balanced Indian roots with modern minimalism.

The logo immediately resonated with the client as it was deeply aligned with the strategy. With a few minor refinements in colour and detailing, the identity was finalised.

We further extended the design across brand collaterals and guidelines to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

Impact and Takeaway:

The final brand identity reflects everything Dr. Era Ayurveda stands for clarity, authenticity, and trust backed by expertise.

The project resulted in:

  • A strong and differentiated position in a crowded Ayurvedic market
  • A modern identity that appeals to today’s conscious consumers
  • Clear and consistent brand communication

This project is a perfect example of how clarity in strategy accelerates design.

This was one of the fastest logo projects we’ve worked on not because it was rushed, but because both the client and the team were aligned on the strategy.

When the foundation is strong, decisions become easier, faster, and more effective.
